Default Mods worth the $ on the 14 v6?

He guys,w

I was thinking of getting an air raid Cai with bama tuner, and bbk throttle body. Hoping to reach 325-330 at the crank.

Who has these mods? Did you notice any improvements in acceleration and speed/ease of passing / merging on freeway? All told it comes out to about $1300 nit including install. What do you guys think.?

Sorry for any mistakes in spelling or grammar. Stupid iPhone

Those are fairly easy to install so you might be able to save some money doing it yourself... other than that I have a v8 so I can't help :/

The CAI will give you better gas mileage with the tuner which will boost horsepower. i felt some differences especially with the tuner. i never had a throttle body, but from my understanding you will have better response time with the gas pedal. you should get the roush axle back over the throttle body for right now.

You didn't say what transmission you have but if you have an Automatic. The tune will be huge! It changes the shift points on the auto. I ran a 13.8@101 with just a air raid CAI & tune. So I think you gain a lot from those two mods and their both DIY.

I bought the bbk throttle body and really didnt notice any difference. If I had to do it again I probably would not get the throttle body.....The cai and tune makes a huge difference

Good question and I'd highly recommend the Airaid CAI and BAMA X4 Tuner Kit! They're a fantastic company to work with and they know how to manufacture a sold Cold Air Intake as well! Paired with a Bama tune I think you would be blown away with the night and day difference you'd see! I can personally attest to the overall improvement as my '08 Bullitt honestly can't touch a 3.7 with basic bolt on's unless we're on a road course! The one thing here that's sticking out to me though is the install cost and I might recommend getting a second estimate! Check out our Supercharged 2011 V6 Prior to having the Blower installed where you can see what a CAI & Tune can do for you!

$1300?? That's a bit high considering you can buy an AirAid intake/tuner combo for $700 and a BBK throttle body for $400. That's $1100. Then you can use a discount code and probably get it for around $1000. I wouldn't pay someone for install unless you're missing more than one hand. Install would be super easy and you'd see a nice performance gain and possibly increase your gas mileage. Added a noticeable bump in power for me. Also, I put off a throttle body until almost last on my build list because exhaust was a lot more important to me. Unless you're forced inducted, you won't get a huge gain from a throttle body. I would recommend getting exhaust before a throttle body but that's up to you.

I'd skip the CIA as it didn't make hardly any difference below 5k

The tuner and shorty headers and a driveshaft-so you can feel confident in removing the speed limiter and running it in the 150's if you ever so get the inkling to.

But suspension, suspension, suspension is really even more important.

I noticed a difference throughout the whole RPM range with a CAI. The lower rpms really improved. The change in sound alone was worth it to me. Paired with a tune, this mod will really help with performance. I agree with suspension as well as the driveshaft too.
