Default Sportshift (selectshift automatic transmission)

I own a 2014 Mustang V6 with the selectshift automatic transmission option; however, when I purposely DON"T shift up, the transmission won't automatically shift up for me (It stays in the same gear -.-). It only shifts down in sport mode automatically. Plus, I read there's suppose to be an indicator light if you don't shift in time; however, I've never see that either.. Can someone explain possible reasoning?

it wont shift up when you dont want it to shift up whats problem???? when you have the car in say third on a transmission what your actually telling it to do is not go higher then the gear you have selected in other words it would allow you to downshift the car prior to putting your foot in it..... as far as the indicator i have no idea personally

I have a 2014 V6 auto as well. When the car is in sport mode, the car will stay in the gear you have selected, UNLESS you come to a stop, then the car will drop back to first (stops you taking off from a light in sixth). As for a shift light (something to tell you to upshift) there isn't one. Will the car let you blow it up before it shifts up for you, never tried it. Mark

Once you hit the +/- button you are in manual shift mode. It will shift down as you come to a stop but if you don't shift up yourself it won't automatically shift up for you.

If you put it in S and don't touch the button it will shift up and down just like any automatic; you just get a more aggressive shift pattern and lock out overdrive.
