Question 2000 mustang transmission problems

Hey guys,
I have a 2000 mustang v6 auto that is starting to have trannsmission problems. First of all when i first start it up and shift into drive it takes a couple seconds for it to actualy drop into drive. WHat is even more scary though is that sometimes when i hit second gear the tranny either slips or just kind of wobbles and nocks. I think its pretty obvious that i need to rebulid/replace it. So my question is what trannsmissions can I use? Im considering just trying to find one on craigslist and putting it in myself. Im just not sure what to look for.

Also, I was thinking about trying lucas oil "trannsmission fix" I have heard of that stuff working very well, and also very badly so i am unsure about it.

What do you guys think?

Where in Illinois are you.
If you're near Waukegan, I Highly recommend Karry Brothers.
I had them do service on my '04 to cure shifting issues. Problem solved!

There is no additive that can fix a damaged/worn transmission. How ever the first thing I would do is drop the transmission pan and let all the fluid out, change the pickup filter that's in there, and refill with new fluid. You wont get all the fluid out with out a flush, but most of it.
