Tanny swap 2012
Generally people say that if you want a manual tranny then trade in your car for a manual. Because the price it costs for parts as well as labor and any headaches just aren't worth it. Anything is possible, I don't know of any parts lists. If I had to imagine you would need a tranny, possibly a bell housing adapter depending on what you go with, clutch, flywheel, clutch pedal, wire harness, shifter, shift ****, shift boots, maybe a new driveshaft. I'm sure there is a lot of other things as well. I'm not super mechanical, so I'm sure someone else will chime in and give you a better idea of what you would need.
If it were me I would trade it in and get a manual. I just did that actually. I had an 06' GT auto and I traded in for a 2013 GT stick. You have to think, it is going to cost a lot to have this done if you do it. You could trade your car in and use all that money as a down payment to jump up to something nicer. I'm going to just throw out a number, let's say it takes a bare minimum of $5000 (I'm sure it probably costs more then that) in labor and parts to do this plus any head aches that come along with it. You could take that and put a really nice down payment on a 2013-2014 GT. I got my 13' GT for like $26,500 out the door. They are coming down in price a lot with the 15's being out now. And I have seen 11's and 12's in the low 20 thousand dollar range and even into the high teens with reasonably low mileage. And if you wanted to stick with a v6 you can get those in the mid teen price range.
Sorry for the rant, I don't want to tell you not to do it because ultimately it is your car. Like I said, someone else will end up chiming in and hopefully give you a better idea of price and what parts you would need. But just so you know, probably everyone who reply's to your thread will tell you to just trade it in for a manual.
