Gents,

I need an opinion from the experts. First off, I'm sorry if this is the wrong section, I wasn't really sure where to put it. So the original reason for my thread. I am currently deployed and when I get back I am going to try and finally get a gt500 which has always been a dream car. My question is, should I get one of the 11-12 models, or try and save longer and get a 13? Obviously the 13 had over 100 more hp which is amazing. But also an extra 10 grand or so more. Any input or recommendations are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

Firstly, Thanks for serving, Got back 6 months ago myself.
Secondly, What do you want to do with the car?
If you want to actually track the car the 13-14 has more potential IMHO, But you can do a SC swap on an 11-12 and match the HP easily. With the 13-14 pulley swap and a tune it can get over 750hp to my understanding.

Both cars are going to be nice, fast, and a lot of fun, so it really is up to how much you want to spend on the car, and on the aftermarket.

Good luck out there, and let us know what you pick up! Also you are deployed, not sure on the price but you can get some deep discounts on new cars, like the 2015 if you are interested... depending on when you get back you can possibly get the GT350 and blow the socks off almost anyone you see. It is going to have close to the same power as a 11-12 GT500 but without the blower.

In all honesty I don't think I will ever track the car. And I love the 13 myself. They just still are quite pricey. I test drove a 12 gt500 before I left and it was amazing! I would love to buy a car while I'm here, issue is I Need to trade in my old one so it doesn't really work out

Can you sell it, or have someone sell it for you?
Either car is a good choice, but you can also save money by adding a blower to your current one. I vote for a VMP TVS Blower if you go that route, but that's just my opinion.

Besides the obvious extra power, and motor of the 13, is there a huge difference between the 12 and 13? Performance wise, obviously the whole body is different.

the taillights are different, the motor, I could see the suspension having some different springs and sway bars but not too different, tires and rims are probably different too but only in design. That is probably about it... but that's all I know of the differences. Wikipedia might help too, check there
