How do I fix this Door?
I bought a 2000 Manual V6 Mustang and the door has a bend where it meets the fender. I have removed the fender and am replacing it, but I wanted to figure out how I can fix the door instead of replacing that too. When the door opens it hits the fender and then it bends, something isn't lining up there correctly and I'm trying to get to the bottom of it. But for now I just need to know how to bend this door back straight.
Does the door (where the latch is) line up to the body properly? It looks to me like some one was backing up with the door open and hit something. Then the door was pushed forward, and every time the door opens it bends the door and the fender. It might need new hinges and replacing the doors is a lot easier than trying to fix it.
If you are desperate to make this door close, get a couple of 4x4 on each side of the bent part of the door, put your floor jack under it, and vertical 4x4 going to the top of the garage door opening. You'll ruin the door but you should be able to flatten it enough to work.
Or you could take the skin off and fix it properly and replace the skin, but a new door would be lots easier.

Also check if the door is sagging by opening it slightly and seeing if you have any up/down movement. If the hinge pin and/or bushings are worn out you’ll have a hell of a time getting the door, fender & window aligned properly. I have a video on how to replace the hinge pins and another on how to align the window afterwards.
Hope it helps.
