unless you have the remost starter installed from ford, this key will not remote start your car

call the dealer with your vin#, they will look it up and can shoot you a price . it will come with new keys that have the start button. and you wont have to worry about all the aftermarket crap there is out there

Adding remote start will not be cheap, but as has been said you should call your dealer's parts/accessories department.

If you have a manual transmission you can kiss your idea goodbye.

There's aftermarket options available...but you get what you pay for and I personally would not use them on the newer cars.

why does it matter if its manual transmission? I plan on getting one on my car once I buy it... just have to know what you are doing and buy the right stuff, even if it costs more.

the manual trans needs a provision to make sure that the trans is in neutral, so the car doesnt go cranking out of the garage and into traffic, or through a wall

correct, however most kits arent designed for manuals, due to the chance of driver error in shifter/ebrake placement. i dont think ford makes a kit for manual trans, i have heard of some in the aftermarket, but there is always that chance that a mistake could be made.... besides, i can always roll the windows down and deal with the heat for a bit, and i like my car too much to punish it by driving it in the snow. so a remote start would be a waste to me.

ahh I see, yeah I understand, I live in Cali and even in NorCal it gets rather hot, so when I buy my car I plan on installing a remote start. but like you said, it has to be the correct one and most people either dont follow guidelines or dont care I suppose, but what do I know lol, im 16 years old and havent even bought my stang yet.
