Default electrical problems in 64.5 mustang

I have a 64.5 mustang, 289 4v. I recently switched from a generator to an alternator and put in a new battery. It ran fine until about a week ago, I went out Sunday morning and turned the key and nothing no power at all. I have checked the wires running to the solenoid and the old voltage regulator that I bypassed when I put in the alternator and everything appears to be right. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Is the battery dead from a parasitic drain ?

Also, try starting a thread with this question in the Classics Tech section, those guys will know where to start.
