Default intake gasket

I removed my intake plenum. It lifted right off and there was a 1" spacer under it, then the intake manifold. The spacer only had a gasket on one side of it. Shouldn't it have a gasket on both sides? 92 lx 5.0

Any tips on loosening those small torque bolts on top. Even after pb blaster, heat, and small impact wrench. Ive broke a few sockets already.
