Default F8AE-6015-AA-9 Engine Casting?

So I recently purchased an engine for my 91 Mustang from a guy who said te engine was out of a 1986 van. I just looked at the engine casting and it is F8AE-6015-AA-9. This leads me to believe it is a engine out of a 1998? Problem is everywhere I read says they stopped doing 351's in 1997. Can anyone tell me what year and engine this is?

thank you in advance.

Thanks That is one of the threads I have seen which is why I'm thinking it is a 98. They are saying 11=5.0, 12=Windsor, 13=Cleveland. Mine has a 9?

Found another link that would support that being from a 98:

You said you found info that the 351 was stopped in '97. Did that specify calendar year or model year?

Did not say. All it said was that they stopped production in 1997 which brought a close to the 5.0L/5.8L series of engines. Although it was a forum so could be wrong as I believe they produced the 5.0L until 2001 in suv's. just seems strange that there is no information in regards to that code.

Here is a photo of the casting. This is a Jasper engine but not sure that makes any difference.

with Ford part numbers, the first character is the model year the part was released. So "F" would correspond to 1985.

The first character is the decade the part was introduced, the second (which will be a number) is the year in that decade.
So an F8***** would be a 98 model year.

Agreed. It is definitely a 98 engine. Any idea if ford put a 351 in any 98 models. I can not find a single one. Every Car, Truck, SUV, Van, etc after 97 all show either 4.6L or 5.4L

I don't know. Maybe in their Australian lineup? Or maybe it went straight into the parts bin to sell aftermarket.
