Default Fail Safe Mode

05 GT Mustang with an after market Eldelbrock Supercharger 90k miles - 30k on the SC (Don't know if the SC has anything to do with my problem). My engine kind of spit and sputter when i Mash the Pedal. I go fast but the engine seems to be either lack fuel or air is leaking into the system. If i gradually push the pedal then no problem the engine gets to speed. Car is kind of old but I love it and the specialized Ford mechanic says it could cost a few grand trouble shooting the problem. I have the trouble codes but he says their just a reference point and replacing each item will be expensive. I have a family with twin 4 years old girls and don't have the $. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Trouble Codes:
P0121 Throttle/Petal Position
P0480 Fan 1 Control Circuit
P2105 Throttle Actuator
P2106 Throttle Actuator Again
P2135 Throttle/Pedal

Could be PCM or the throttle body/pedal the fan makes me think it's a PCM/tune issue but it could also be an extraneous code cause by the other faults. The Edelbrock uses an aftermarket throttle body which are well documented for having issues on these cars. They just never work right for whatever reason but that said I have only seen one post on the Edelbrock one having issues. They apparently released a revised version which may be some help for you. I'd call Edelbrock directly and see if they have any suggestions. Also in the mean time you could double check the wiring connections to make sure something isn't shorting or coming apart. I believe Edelbrock uses plug and play connectors so you may have a loose connection somewhere.

Also I wouldn't push it to hard boosted motors and faults can lead to the engine going boom if you ignore it too long

Thanks so much 09/CS. I did have problems with my PCM. My air conditioner wouldn't work when the car came up to temp. I had the compressor changed out and FORD still couldn't figure out what the problem was and then they wanted $1,800 to change out the PCM after i already paid for the compressor. I found a refurbished PCM on line and now everything is working again but I still have the engine issues. I replaced the MAS sensor so my next bet was going to start replacing parts. Don't really have the funds to do that with all my overhead cost with family obligations. I'll check with Eldelbrock on the Throttle Body issues.
Much Mahalo,
Bob

If they changed the PCM did the ref lash to stock? If so that's the issue. The aftermarket throttle position sensor reads differently than stock. You will need to flash it with the Edelbrock tune. Also this will fix fuel demand for the blower. The stock tune can't handle the supercharger.

Thanks again for your help. I actually changed out the PCM since its a rather simple thing to do. I had to get the car keys reprogrammed but the supercharger came with a tuner so i just downloaded the tune into the car once the keys were programed. I did what you said and called Eldebrock and they gave me the part number for the TPS on my throttle body. The tech guy didn't say much but I got the feeling he heard the complaint before. I'm going to order the part today. Again Thanks!!
