Default stupid noob question: what oil should i use for my 06 GT?

i ask because i used to live in heaven (michigan) where i would pay 25$ for a oil change with ford motor craft filter and synthetic blend oil + a multi point inspection - but now i'm literally in hell (florida) where the same oil change costs 50$ and i have to wait 15 minutes to have an appointment with a "service advisor" to discuss how my car has been driving and what my hobbies are before they even work on the car.. and they use off brand oil and filter.... and there's homeless people everywhere that get completely ignored and the weather is nasty as ****...and its just complete bull****...

i found a sears here that seems nice and want 43$ for a synthetic blend oil change using valvoline oil, but they seem pretty cool and nice and don't have all that BS the ford dealer has, should i go for that? is valvoline oil good?

planning to move back to heaven asap.

But seriously, any oil is better than no oil. Any full synthetic is better than any semi-synth. All else is marketing hype. I get mine done at Sears with a coupon.

nice thanks a lot! is this the coupon you use?

http://www.searsauto.com/offers/2607...tic-oil-change

so with that coupon its 49$ for full synthetic? thats pretty good

feel excited to go full synthetic btw how often do you change your full synthetic oil? i know most people say 10-15k - but i do not feel safe going that long without an oil change even if it is the awesomeness of FULL SYNTHETIC - prolly 5k is the best bet?

I've always used Valvoline with no issues. It's best to stick with motorcraft filters on the 3valves. Ford claims they help the timing chain slap at cold start. I just did chains on my brothers truck and it's a pain. You can get the motorcraft filters for like $2.50 at Walmart and just hand it to the guy and say use this haha. Other than that oil is oil. I will say though the Valvoline Max life really helped with a rear main seal leak on my last truck. Kept it from dripping on my driveway at least. I use Valvoline synthetic in my 09.

Just use a full synthetic oil in the weight shown in your dealer's manual! Full synthetic gives extra heat protection & I think can be run for 7 to 10K miles! If money is tight Walmart sells a full synthetic under the Tech 2000 name. I use the regular Mobil One synthetic.

I bet someone asks this question again within 2 weeks!
