Anti-Theft Lockdown on Stang
I have a modified 99-04 Mustang V6 automatic. I actually have two problems, though I don't know if they are interrelated, so I need some help. First, about a week ago I'm driving the car and I noticed that the rpms are getting stuck. When I give it some gas for a couple of seconds while driving and then take my foot off the petal, I'm noticing the rpms aren't coming down with the deceleration all the time. So as I'm testing this out yesterday, and I drive over a small dip in the road. I certainly didn't bottom out. But when I came out of the dip, the entire car shutdown. The engine died, the wheel locked up, and I drifted the car into the curb. After a couple of minutes I tried the car again. It was trying to turn over but wasn't ignited. Anyway, I noticed on my dashboard that the "theft" light was blinking like crazy. So I had to have the car towed, cause after numerous tries, I couldn't get the car started. The guy at the shop today told me he linked the scanner to the onboard computer, but wasn't getting any response at all from computer. So no code or anything. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on either problem or both and what I can do. My car is pretty modified, though I'm quite positive it wasn't a result of anything added, although if I have to take it to Ford I know they'll give me plenty of grief and say its cause its modified...been down that road before. So I need any advice. Could it have a damaged theft sensor? Would this affect the reving of the car?
Thanks,
Trey

RE: Anti-Theft Lockdown on Stang
did you try the fuel cutoff switch in the trunk? I don't see why the car would shutoff in the middle of driving it from the anti theft stuff. I think the antitheft cuts off fuel to the motor, not electricity to the car.
