turns over no start sometimes.. Please read
I have a 1989 GT 5 speed manual.. The car when its cold starts up no issues runs great. I drive it doesn't matter how far turn it off for a few minutes maybe 10-15 try and start it wont start sometimes. The car will just turn over and smell a lot of fuel but will not start. Leave the car sit for a good 5-6 hours and she crankes right back up.... I got a tip on replacing the coolant temp sensor and that seemed to have worked for a bit but it just started acting up again. I have put my fuel gauge on it, have fuel pressure, put a spark tester on it, have spark. I have replaced, cap, rotor, plugs, IAC valve, the TBI or whatever is mounted on the distributor, coolant temp sensor, mass air flow. I am lost and could use some good advice please????? Also she never misses or acts up when it happens, just turns over but no start...

This sounds like a typical TFI module issue. "No start" when hot. But let it sit and cool down and it starts right back up.
Take your TFI module off and take it in to your local Autozone/Advance store and have it tested. Have them run the test 3 times in a row. This will make the module hot enough to simulate real driving conditions. If it's bad, it'll fail on the third test.
Only used Motorcraft modules. Others have a bad rep.
Good luck

well I think I may have found the issue? I went to crank on the car again after I let it sit and the battery sounded drained a little. I grabbed the charge went to put it on and my ground popped right off. I went to tighten the nut up and it wouldn't tighten anymore. I put some washers on it to make it bite and it did. Charged the battery over night, of course as I thought the car cranked right up. Went and drove it got it good an warmed up brought it back to my shop turned it off and then cranked it right back up no issues. Let it sit for 10 minutes, still cranked back up. Drove it to lunch today, started back up after lunch. I hope I got it figured out... I'll let you know if it continues to start.. Thanks.
