Help needed. Electrical problem
Ok so my dumb cousin accidentally put the battery on backwards and now the battery is not charging aka (the alternator is not powering up) I checked the cable that runs to the alternator and the alternator and they're both good. But I found that there is no power going to it from the post on the fuse box. I checked the manual and it says "m case fuses" but I'm not sure what that is and where they are because they're not visible that's for sure. I have a 2015 mustang Gt FYI
He likely fried one or both of the Fusible Links protecting the alternator. Not sure of their location on Mustang. A good shop will know. They are originally color-coded to indicate their size, but when blown, will have a burnt and rippled surface appearance, often brown. They are located outside of the wiring harness, most often at the place the power leads in to the Battery Junction Box.
Lol I wanted to kill him. But yeah i found that one of the fuses that are in the battery junction box is out and there's no voltage going to the alternator. I ordered the part, I'll get it Wednesday. I hope is just that.
