Default 68 convertible

Just looking for a little knowledge. I was attempting to put my top down when I heard a pop and what I thought was a spraying sound coming from behind me. The top never moved but the motor still ran...

So is this more likely an issue with the hydraulics or could the motor have gone out but still be trying to run? Maybe something else?

Sounds like you have a hydraulic leak some place hence the spraying sound you mentioned. Time for a good visual inspection and find out where the leak is. GOOD luck!

Is it worth finding the leak or just go to replacing it?
