hey guys...well i posted this question in the 5.0 forum but got no answer. well here it goes, i have a 94 cobra and my problem is that i cant get the dang "theft" light to turn off!! I have no idea what this sensor is conected to. can anyone give me some advice or know by chance what this light is running off of...ie doors, ignition, something. thanks alot guys!

 

hhhmm, just a suggestion. but it could be a possible ground fault and the light stays on to alarm you of the fault?

 

I'm not sure if they were putting the PATS systems in vehicles back then... but could be. Does the light turn off after 10 minutes? It will stay on for 10 minutes then turn off if the anti-theft has been disabled in the computer, or isn't working properly. Basically someone can have a key cut to match yours and it will start your car, it won't need the chip in an original key... this assumes that they had the chips in the keys back then.

 

well i dunno, i dont have a chip in my key and the light will stay on all the time, no matter if im driving or its parked. i guess ill just have to look through some wires
