Hey there, So this is my first post, and I know enough about mechanics to get myself into trouble but I'm stuck here.
I'm working on a 67' mustang with a 289, the previous owner did some 'work' that makes my work that much more difficult. Upon replacing the water pump I noticed one bolt was rust welded into the block (I haven't attempted to remove that one as of yet, but any ideas are welcome), and on the other side there felt like damaged threads on the block. I carried on and removed the water pump and timing cover and the threads that I thought were damaged actually were fractured (I'll attach a picture).
My question is, is it possible to repair the fractured section or is the block caput?
A buddy of mine suggested using JB weld and retapping the threads, what do you think?
I appreciate all of the wisdom and advice that you have for me.
Cheers! I circled the damaged section, ill get more pictures up tomorrow to hopefully get a clearer picture.
