Transmission slip
Noticed yesterday on my 92 LX 5.0 Auto when running along at 65 mph when I stood on the gas the tach went out of sight but the car didn't go any faster. Something was slipping and when checking at lower speeds it does the same thing. As long as you go real easy on it the car will accelerate, but when the car is pushed, nothing. You can not only see the tach peg, but you can feel the slippage. The car only has 20 thousand miles on it and has been treated real well. It seems like I had the same problem 10 or so years ago buck my car guy soesn't remember what we did. I thing he replace some kind of transmission cable that had stretch or frayed, but he isn't sure. Any idea's.
