I got an 84 Mustang L with a 3.8 3spd. I also have a motor (96 351Winsdor H.O.) that i am changin to carborated. What would be the best rear end and tranni i want good take off but not a complete reck on my gas bill. I was thinkin a 4.11 rear end with a 5spd. Any thoughts?

if your doing a 351 forget gas milage.

just find you a 8.8 rear it will do you fine and if you want a 5 spd you can get a tko 500 for around 1500.

also if i remember right the k memeber on the fox 6cyl cars are diffent and will need to be swaped with a v8 or 4cyl k memeber

 

So you dont think that the bottom end power to gas ratio is worth it to get a 4.11? What about a 4 spd. would that eb worth it?
