Issues after cam swap, help needed
I recently installed the Ford performance hot rod cam on my 4.6 3v and I’ve had some horrible valvetrain noises since. I still haven’t drove the car because of the ticking/nocking in fear of destroying my motor.
The install went very smooth and I’m almost certain I didn’t jump time, I used the timing wedge and took my time with the swap. Everything was torqued to spec and I used new phaser bolts.
I was doing a compression test and averaged around 180 all around, when pulling the last spark plug for the test I ended up breaking it and while waiting for the lisle removal kit I changed both cam phasers in hope of a solution but ended up with the same valvetrain noise. I’ve got new plugs phasers and good numbers on my compression test. Is there anything else I’m possibly overlooking. A lot of guys have told me the tick is normal but I know my car and this is off. The link in of the noise.
it seems to get quiter after 1500rpm
Im completely at a loss for my next step. I’m mechanically inclined but I don’t know everything and am willing to try any suggestions from seasoned members. I’m stationed in Hawaii so my shops are limited, if I can get it troubleshooted and fixed on my own that would be amazing
