Cool Engine noise

My 16 yr old has a 2002 v6 stang, started making a squeaky knocking noise. I started with the cam synchro, because that seemed like where the noise was coming from. Changed it and no difference. When cold, it makes no noise, but as soon as it warms up it appears. I eliminated rod knock with a compression test. Next I took off both valve covers, and inspected valve movement with car running. It turned out to be a pitted lobe on the #4 cylinder. So I'm in the market of a cam. I was wondering if someone could kindly attach a thread of the stock cam specs. I don't mind changing the springs and lifters since I'm in there already. I just want to upgrade the cam a little. BTW, I'm doing all this with engine in place. thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

well after a little search, I believe this set up will work. the comp cam 44-701-9 w/ new lifters. new chain and gears, new water pump and all the gasket. total price around 600 bucks plus all the bonding time.

besides the obvious, rod knock makes a different sound than a cam or the synchro. I also did a sound test with a stetho. if you have rod knock youre more than likely gonna get a fluckuating compression reading. Btw, I had pitting on the cam causing it to knock a bit and whistle
