I have a 1989 Mustang with a 2.3L 4 cyl. Need to know if there is supposed to have a plate between the transmission and the engine. When I start the motor the starter makes a grinding noise and I had a mechanic going to change the flywheel and he noticed that there was not a Bellhousing separator plate. Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a plate or not?
