Default One thing to remember...

Every gear-head guy or gal I've ever met, likes to brag about fixing something on their ride. Rightly so too. One reason we almost never realize (albeit we complain about) is the cost of vehicle repair. It has always been expensive, and getting more every day. Here is one reason.

I have a good friend (Tommy) who works are a local car and truck dealership, and has been at his trade for over 20 years. His tool boxes (two) are so large, he has to step on a small stool to reach the top drawer. These two Mac Tool brand units cost near $3,000 each! He says, the tools in them hover around $250,000. Due to the current trends, he has to have both metric and SAE sized tools. There are Torq style wrenches, some diamond head assortments, and enough torque wrenches to fill my meager home-based tool box. The computers and scan tools are too numerous to mention. The bottom line here is, some body needs to pay for these things, and that is you and I. Because he has these tools (and experience), he can detect and repair things which are almost unrepairable. So when all else fails (usually you and I), just seek out someone like Tommy who has been there and done that, and pay for it!
