2020 GT Drop here. Warning lights for trunk/hood going on/off periodically over the last 2 weeks. They don’t remain on for long. Never had both lights going on and off intermittently. Neither hood nor trunk lid are open nor are their locks/latches loose.

Any suggestions for this issue?

It could be a bad sensor. On my 2006 the hood sensor went bad - the trunk and hood sensors get exposed more to elements and can get water that will cause them to fail and show as "open" when they aren't. Easy to replace (at least on the 2006).

 

I would think that as well, but I can’t get anything from diagnostics. I go to the dealer they’re not going to be able to spot it without an engine light going off.

 

Diagnostics didn't tell me anything on my 2006 either and the dealer couldn't figure it out. I finally pulled the under hood sensor and replaced it and the problem stopped.

 

If it keeps acting up, I guess that’s the move. Of all the Mustangs I’ve owned this is the first time both the hood and trunk light go on for an apparent fault.
