My 5.0 has the stock fan. I run 180 with the A/C off, but with the A/C on it goes over 190 and higher if I get stuck in traffic. (I live in Florida, so A/C is important.) Will going to an electric fan help? Does anyone have experience with this?

Yes it would help. I have the same problem with my jeep on hot days. The temp goes up to about 215 which scares me. But once im moving, it goes back down to about 190. So yes, the electric fan will do no harm.
