Default Resetting the computer without disconnecting battery

My negative battery cable just refuses to come off. I want to reset the computer because of certain check engine light problems I am working on. I was wondering if pulling the fuse was a good idea? Will it reset the computer? There are a bunch of fuses in the fuse box under the hood. Which one of these? TIA.

get some wd40 or something similiar and take it off. Its always to have a good connection to your battery.

Or just disconnect the positve terminal or disconnect the neg at the chassis.

With OBDll systems, you can disconnect the battery as much as you want, and it will NOT reset any MIL stored in the ECU. You need a code reader for that.

Good point Yellow, but he never did say what year his car was or even what engine he is working on.

It is flammable but I spray it on battery terminals all the time. you won't have a problem with fire and it's good for getting rid of any corrosion you might have on there.

You can disconnect the pos and the neg and touch them together and that will clear the entire PC. Good for those time you take the car into the dealership. They can read readlines and much more stuff-Shane
