Resetting the computer without disconnecting battery

It is flammable but I spray it on battery terminals all the time. you won't have a problem with fire and it's good for getting rid of any corrosion you might have on there.

The best thing to use to break corroded cables free is mixing baking soda and water and pouring a little on the battery cable, it bubbles the acid away. Apply and let sit for about 20 minutes, then apply a little more. Then use a screwdriver to pry the cable loose. when both terminals are loose, put the pos and neg terminals together and turn the ignition for 5 seconds, that will reset your computer

My negative battery cable just refuses to come off. I want to reset the computer because of certain check engine light problems I am working on. I was wondering if pulling the fuse was a good idea? Will it reset the computer? There are a bunch of fuses in the fuse box under the hood. Which one of these? TIA.

OBD II systems require a code reader, borrowed from Auto Zone or Advance Auto, to zero the codes. Takes about five minutes. Of course, it won't do any good until you correct the underlying issues.

You can disconnect the pos and the neg and touch them together and that will clear the entire PC. Good for those time you take the car into the dealership. They can read readlines and much more stuff-Shane

Then any static charge left in the computer will then fry a fuse/relay or the computer itself becuase you caused a static short and while the dealership may not be able to get any of that other info, they will be billing you to buy and install a new computer.
