when I first saw your post, I was wondering why you were interested in transsexuals LOL [8D]

just kidding. Did you replace the torque converter or rebuild the trans at all when you did the swap? Is it a stock GT converter? What year car did the trans come out of and was it the same car as the engine?

How many miles are on the drivetrain?

How bad is the problem? Does the car just rev or does it just take a second or two to "decide" what gear it wants to be in? How is it when you are starting from a stop?....does it slip at all? How about reverse?

Just so you know, the auto GT transmissions are notorious for being sloppy slushboxes. I am trying to determine if it's got a real problem or if you just need a tuner to firm up the shifts or a new TQ converter.

Default RE: tranny question

ok my problems are the following:

>When i am sitting still and i punch it....it pulls great until when its supposed to shift.....it revs too high and all its doing is making noise....it needs to shift sooner

>usually in the morning or when i first start the car.....when i first start driving, it will slip.....i will press the gas a little bit....and it revs up and then catches (terrible feeling) it never slips from a dead stop though...only when im rolling on to an onramp and then give it gas....it revs then catches...usually once the car warms up its fine

>Sometimes it will downshift somewhat randomly.....for example in the morning ill get on flat ground and ill be in 3rd and it will downshift without me pressing the gas or anything...but then again it doesent do that after the car warms up

PLEASE HELP
its not anything i cannot drive with......just would like to get rid of it

The transmission came out of a 95 gt....and the motor was a remanufactured 5.0

Wish I could help. I have an 02 supercharted GT and having issues myself. I'm not sure if its the tuner or the tranny but leaning towards the tranny. When I put her in drive it takes her a 2nd to catch and go. Within the last few days when I stop at a light still in drive and let off it takes a sec for her to catch. So..our problems might be similiar but I wish I knew what they were-Shane

Well as a catch up on my situation and hope it helps the author of this post in case it happens On the way to TENN for Thanksgiving my RPMs were at 6,000 in 4th gear! So I had to turn around and head home in 3rd gear at 4,000 for 250 miles. My engine doesnt like me much rite now. But dropped the car off and its getting a new tranny buit for 750 ft foot pounds of torque with a 2800 stall. 1rst and 2nd were always slipping which was my problem in the 60ft. So now things should shape up-Shane
