I am new to the forum and am looking at a new mustang. I dont plan of getting a GT just a V6. I heard these cars govern at 160. I need a chip that i can put in so it will take that POS governer away. Any ideas?

 

Actually, the 6ers are governed at around 115. You can get a flash tuner, like the DiabloSport (I have this one), and remove the speed limiter. But then you'd be limited to the capacity of the fuel injectors. That's around 120-125mph.

 

really ? wow that sucks, my focus was limited at 108mph, i put the diablosport chip in it too... i've hit 135mph a couple times.

 

Well, Ford couldn't have a V6 that would out run a GT now, could they?
But all you need to do is upgrade the injectors, and look out!

 

oops sorry guys im from canada i meant 160km/hr lol so i need to throw in some preformance injectors and a diablo tune and what type of speed and horsepower am i looking for here. this is my first real muscle car and i wanna do things slow.

Ok. First off, do the dual exhaust, and CAI, then put on under drive pulleys. Then I'd go with the tuner. SCT makes one for the 05/06's. Then put in gears, and a T-Lok. The T-Lok will make it a possi unit. You're looking at about 1700-2000 bucks to do all this. And you should see a 40 RWHP increase give or take.

Forgot..somewhere along the way upgrade the fuel injectors. Another $250.00 or so...

hey its got more muscle than my 88 mercury tracer
