Default A strange whinning

When I drive my '99 Mustang GT I hear a whinning coming from the front end, more on the drivers side. Its a 5-speed incase it has anything to do with the tranny. The whine is worse as the RPMs get higher and sometimes when I push the clutch in, it stops, sometimes it doesn't. It even has a slight whine when its idle. Some drives don't have much whine at all, but others are embarassingly awful. What could it be?

Sounds like a throw-out bearing on it's way out.

My TOB started with a whine and eventually it progressed into a an extremely high-pitched sound.

The key to your information, is the noise changing when you depress the clutch. Your TOB is always turning when the engine is running, you change how much load is on the bearing when you depress the clutch.

it is 100% your To bearing. mine does that at idle and gets higher pitched as you rev it up. when you throw in the clutch it instantly stops. sounds just like a blower.

you might wanna get a whole new clutch kit, thats the best way to doit. the tob is easy to get to though if you are pressed for time/money. tob are failry cheap too, but still id just get a clutch kit for like 200$ or so and either replace or resurface your flywheel.
