superchargers and gears
i have an auto 01 mustang gt and i was thinking about superchargers and gears
is it better to run with cen. supercharger with 4:10 gears (like procharger, vortech) or a kenne bell with 3:73 or even a kenne bell with 4:10
which combination would be the best and go the fastest

Alot of people say to go with 3.73`s with a S/C. I know one guy with a S/C cobra with 4.10`s and the car is awesome with the gears. Just get a good set of D/R`s and you should be fine.
centrifiacal is a belt driven turbo basically, so you dont get into boost until 3k, so def. go with 4.10s for that, a roots or twin screw, go with 3.73 or motive 3.90s
and if you keep your stock wheels and tires, get some 275 wide tires in the back.

do u guys know what your talking about?....it all depends on the boost per say say in the votech which are rated at 50,000 rpm max you used a 2.95 and some 4.10 you'll be spooling up near 48k+ at 6500 rpm
a 3.27 gear for like 10 # is great, reason you can use 1st gear not blow the tires off of the car, and the S/C will live a nice long life....

higher gears(lower numerically) are better for a SC to point.
3.27-3.55's are a good choice , cuz you have such a broad powerband.
if you already have 3.73's you may want to experiment a bit, and depends if 5-speed or auto too.
1 gearset change is pretty minimal, and i would say don't bother if thats the case, but sometimes you have to.

The bottom line verdict is run either 3.73's or 4.10's with a centrifugal, and run 3.73's or 3.55's in a twin screw set up. Personally, I like a little taller gear for more drivability. My procharged 01 had 3.55's, and I wouldn't go shorter. One thing about really short gears (like 4.10's) is they are harder on you overall wear and tear. You will go through your clutch faster, tires faster and although it probably won't diminish your engine longevity, it certainly won't help it. For almost everyone, I think staying in between the extremes is the best way to go when you look at the big picture.
