Default T-45 grind/chatter during shift and after engagement

I've just purchased a 96 GT with a t-45. It shifts okay, has a good clutch, but makes a groan during upshifts. It doesn't make any noises once the clutch is released. On the upshift, it comes out of gear fine, but time you get on the syncronizer it begins to vibrate/chatter/grind all the way through the shift, and it will slowly fade out a second or two after in gear. It doesn't sound like gear grind. You can feel the slider go onto the syncronzer and then the gear very easily, while feeling this groan in the back ground. If you let the clutch out the noise immediately stops. It does this in each gear. No noises on downshift. If you give it a secon or two before going into the next gear it doesn't make any noises. It acts like a release bearing, but it only does this on the upshift, and no ther times the clutch is depressed. It also grinds on a 1-2 speed shift, but I'm sure that another issue. Any ideas?
