How can i tell the difference between a 99,00,01,02,03,and 04 just by looking at it???

 

some of them you can't liek the 99 and 00 then like 02 and 03 are the same a 04 should have a 40 year badge on the side the scoops headlights where the only real diffences that an dthe console.

 

99 have 35th badge.

 

99s have the 35th anniversary badge.
00's don't.

01-04s have "smoked" headlamps.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the larger hood scoops started in 02. (someone feel free to correct me, I think I might have read they were options on 00-01s? I can't recall.) ... this is as far as the GTs.

04s have the 40th anniversary badge.

05s are a completely different body design. [8D]

Then there's also the rims, I know I test drove an 00 GT with the plastic looking 5 spokes and my friend had an 01 GT vert with the bullitt style rims. and this is for the GTs also, obviously.

 

look for the badging, like fellow poster's have replied,

the 99 will have the 35th aniversary badge, the 04s will have the 40th aniversary badge

00s will have a smaller hood scoop then 03s

besides, that.....the vin number will tell u what year it was born in

 

many of the 04 V6's have machined polished rims with a mustang centercap and also have the 2000? cobra hood (spreads out going backwards). I believe the 99 and 00 V6's have 15" rims vs 16" later on.
