Default Car painted

I dont know where to post this, so I thought I would post it here. Now I have a silver GT with black pin stripes on the sides, now I love the way it looks, but was wondering how much does it cost to get this done? I want the whole car painted and everything. The whole nine yards. I've always wanted a yellow stang with the chrome rims off the 04 GT's, but I bought my GT for only $10,000, so I didnt wanna pass this up.

That seems to be a **** load of money just for a color change. Does that include labor and everything? What else will there be since 2500 is just to get started?

You've got to consider (to do it right) a color change involves jamming, and removing everything from the engine compartment on top of all the prep and paint just to paint the outside...

Yea, theres alot more work than you think. Also, like closer9 just said, jamming and removing all the parts in the bay area, especially because its a 4.6 and theres so much bull in the bay. And it also depends on how nice of paint you want to use. Do you want to do some kind of custom yellow or just the stock Ford Yellow. Because IMO if you just want to stock ford yellow I would just buy one.

Also, if you serious about doing it you could save yourself alot of money and strip the car yourself.

Dito. Regardless of what color, this is always your best option. My '67 Belvedere is in the shop right now. He got a shell with enough suspenion to roll it around, the hood, fenders, bumper fill panel, and a few other parts were sitting inside. I saved myself a lot of money by doing a lot of the work myself. Plus, you gain a much greater knowledge of your car by stripping it... BTW, it's going from brown to Go Mango!

^^^ Im sure alot of people would agree but alot of times people dont have the space to do that kind of work. But if you do have the space I wouldnt think twice about doing it. Unless you dont even want to deal w. it and dish out the extra 1,500.

2500 will get you a basic paint job but most guys wont do the engine compartment fot that. but ya got ot understand if you wanted it back the same color a good all over job is about 2k up. so 2500 up on a color change. i have a buddy that just quoted 20k for a complete color change on a escalade.
