Default Chrome Rim Restoration

This is my first winter with my car and the guy I bought it from was nice enough to give me an extra set of the stock 10 hole rims so I wouldn't have to keep the chrome ponies on in the winter. I noticed a lot of brake dust during the summer when i would polish the wheels but couldn't get at it so I knew what I would be doing over the winter. When I got them off it really looked like 15 years of break dust on the inside. I started by using Meguiars wheel cleaner. You just get the rims wet and spray the stuff on the whole wheel. You really have to rush with the hose because it says not to let it sit for more than 15 seconds. You then spray the rims on full blast and wipe them down with a rag. I had to do this a few times and use a brush to get the real caked in dirt. After I did the best I could I used Mothers chrome polish on the whole rim. I was a little disappointed to find some pitting but it really looks 1000x better than before, hope you enjoy the pics.

The first wheel took me like 2-3 hours, 3 more wheels to go [sm=headbang.gif] The pictures might not show it but I think it will be very noticeable when you get down and look at the wheels up close.

if ya just want them cleaned. Go see if you can find some stuff called "b52 the brown bomber degreaser" spray it on there let it set about 5min then use a soft brush to scrub a little it shoudl come clean with that crap.
