wtf my fuel pump
ok my fuel pump was like barely acting up a while back, nothin major like it has done before, but i changed my filter to maybe keep it in good condition and this worsened the problem! it now gives out wayyy more and is causing a hugeeeeeeeeee problem! I didnt think replacing the filter with a new one would cause the pump to go?....does this sound right?
No, replacing the filter should have no bearing. Get a fuel pressure guage on your car and see if you are loosing fuel pressure as you bring up your rpm. If it's not increasing or staying flat, then your pump is bad. One thing that people need to realize is the the fuel pump is located in the gas tank. -For a reason. As long as you keep your tank above 1/4, the pump will be submerged in gas, and this helps to keep it cool. One of the easiest way to make your pump go bad is to drive around with a 1/4 tank of gas or less, all the time. The pump won't be submerged, and it will heat up faster, causing more chance for it to go bad.
