Okay, here is my question. I have a 95 gt vert w/ the aode tranny. My question is not whether to get the 3.73's or 4.10s, but rather, what kind and where. I see there are different manufactures. I hear Richmond gears are bad (whining). A lot of people say Ford racing is the way to go. But from the sites i have been at it says for 8.8 rear ends only. What does a factory 95 gt vert have for a standard rearend? Also, according to mustangtuning or mustangtuner .com , they say they recomend the motive over the ford gears. Any reasons for this?? I guess, my questions are: where to get the gears? What size rear end does my stang have? Any preferences of manufacturer? Thanks for any help.....

WHAT ABOUT BUYING USED? I'M CHEAP SO IF I CAN SAVE A LITTLE I'LL HAVE MONEY FOR OTHER MODS. IS THERE WAYS TO DETERMINE IF A USED SET OF GEARS IS OKAY OR NOT? IF THERE IS PLEASE EXPLAIN. THANKS.

 

find out if the used gears have abnormal wear, cracks or chips.

 

I have richmonds and they do not whine at all.

as for the used gears, i honestly wouldnt risk it....the rear end is such a complicated thing to take apart and rebuild
only to find out the gears are junk and you need to rebuild it again
