Default cam help

I have a stock 2004 mustang gt automatic and I am thinking about getting cams for it. I am looking for a safe enough camfor my engine that will give my car a mean aggressive sound while driving and at idle without having to change too much in my engine. I heard that a cam with a 550 lift and 226 230 duration will work. Does anyone know anything about cams for my 04 stang?

Cams would not be the best thing to go with for a stock mustang. Get some 4.10's.

the 4.6 is a much more difficult engine to change cams in than a 5.0 . the labor is very extensive and it will cost more that it is worth. go ahead and do it if you want to. it is a great modification to do. the cost benefit ratio isnt too good though

If you cam your motor w/out having other work you will loose horsepower. It will sound great but you will not get anything out of it besides sound. Like GT96Stang said, I would go with a nice set of gears (4:10's, 3:93's) OR you can do the cam and the gears will make up for the lost power
