when i race at the tracks i see alot of mustangs that remove their front passenger head light, Is that to get cool air in the air filter, does it work

how do you take it out

It acts as a sort of ram air. You're not going to gain a tragically large amount by doing it, I'd say the gains are negligible... but if you're pushing for the very most you can get out of your stang, you may want to pull the light out. As for taking it out, I don't know because I haven't done it, but there should be a couple of screws which are easy to access that you can take out, just a guess.

most cars that have a headlight out are either supercharged or turbo with their air filter behind the light, and yes it is to get colder air into the filter...taking it out is a matter of loosening a few bolts and unplugging the connections

now i wonder what is gonna do more the hp advangae form having the headlight out or the drag caused buy having the headlight out. your pretty much screwing up the areodynamics of that portion of the car.

On my '02 I just have to pull up a couple metal tabs & the whole light assembly pops right out. no tools needed at all
