Clutch or transmission problem!!!!!!!!!!
I have a '00 mustang v-6, 5 speed...54'000 miles...lastnight I was at the stop light and i put it into gear and released the clutch but the car wouldnt move....i can actually shift it into all the gears without even putting the clutch in WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING lol...any ideas? I need to do this a.s.a.p. so any help would be appreciated....fitexcell@aol.com or pm me here....thanks guys![:@]
Could be the clutch is worn although 54K is low for a worn clutch unless it was abused. It sounds like there is no connection between the clutch and engine...either that or the shifter is broken.
Ehh....that's a strange symptom for a clutch to wear out, unless there was previous slipping/notching. I don't think you're clutch would just **** out without warning.
Even if the clutch wore out, the car would still want to move. It would seem like the clutch isnt enaging... check the line or cable going to the pressureplate. Im no mechanic though

Basically the pedal has full tension throughout movement when the pedal is pushed. To check for the cable to be bad I would just pull the fork shield right? The shifter is fine. I checked that..thanks guys!
Ok guys guess what???? lol i took it apart today and the clutch is toast...i mean there is no clutch plates left...when i dropped the bellhousing nothing but fiberglass and stuff came out...lol so anyways I wanted to thankyou guys for your replies! Thanks!
