Default Question about overdrive

Am I supposed to keep overdrive on or off during everyday city driving? I know, it's probably a stupid question, but I've never driven a car with overdrive before

in the city use D....on the freeway use OD. you don't want it shifting in and out of OD. it wears VERY fast.

Overdrive is pretty much needed only for highway driving. It is like my 5th gear (i drive a manual), i almost never use 5th gear, unless i am on a trip. Even on the interstate, since i am only on the interstate for 10-15 mins at a time.

Ford says something to the effect of "if driving 45mph+ for extended periods of time, use OD"

So if youre going to be doing more than 45 for a while, at least say 15 minutes, run overdrive, if youre around the city, keep it in drive
