Default driver's mirror, please help

Question:

I have a 96 GT. When I purchased the Stang, the driver’s side mirror was broken. I purchased a new one, but I was wondering if there was a way to take the new one apart and replace the mirror only. The old one was painted the color of the car and I don’t want a black mirror on the right side and a red one of the left. I will be repainting the car, but not for a while. Any thoughts?

Default RE: driver's mirror, please help

If it's just the glass part broken..go to a auto glass shop and get a new one. We carry pre cut, model specific ones instead of cutting them to fit each vehicle. If the parts behind the glass are missing/broken...try a junk yard.

EDIT:
If you already have the glass out of the other mirror. Take a flat screwdriver or gasket scraper and get behind the broken mirror glass and break it free from the backing plate. There are only a few dabs of glue that hold it on. Remove all broken mirror and adhesive. Apply new adhesive and press it in.
