Default Suspension upgrades or not?

I have a 96 GT and getting some serious uneven tread issues, my mechanic said I should get out and inner tie rods and balljoints before I do the wheel alignment so that everything is precise and tight.

Does that sound cool or like he's tryin' to **** me?
*Give those parts are not that expensive I would imagine*

Also, are their any upgrades from stock GT ball joints and tie rods?[&:]

steeda and a few other companys make a bump steer kit for mustangs that will replace the outer tierodends if ya dont' think there all bad (chances are they arn't) go to another place and get a second opinion. but if they are bad get it all fixed its not a good idea to drive around with bad front end parts.

get the front wheels off the ground. wiggle the front wheels around and feel for any slop. if there is, time to replece some stuff. it is tight, its fine

How much does it usually cost for labor and parts of replacing ball joints, outer and inner tie rods and an wheel alignment?

Cause my mechanic is trying to jerk me, he says $450

outer tie rod ends about 30 buck a piece

about 60 for inners each
i haven't ever done the ball joints on a mustang so i dont' know but my guess about 75 each then an alignment. but i just don't see all 6 of them needing repaced.

I just got them all done. Ball joints, tie rods (inner and outer). My mechanic got me the "premium" quality ball joints and he is doing a tire rotation and an alignment all for $500............is that okay?
