new engine this winter
so im building a new engine this winter and im wondering what kind of power to expect in the spring. Its gunna be a 302 either stock ported heads or some 69 windsor heads. a performer intake, 600 CFM holly vacuum secondary carb, as well as a comp cams nostalgia grind 271 Hi Po, with 266/273 int/exh duration, as well as 480/475 int/exh lift. Anyone know what kind of power i can expect from this combo, assuming im using the stock heads with a basic pot job and 9-9.3:1 compression. also any advice or ideas appreciated

RE: new engine this winter
its not gonna be that radical of a motor.
ya know you can build a 5.0 fairly cheap these days you could up grade the heads for not much more that an pp job and then toss some 10:1 pistons in and call comp to do a custom grind to your set up and get more hp our of it. for not that much more money.
btw i voted 225 to 250

however, i have recently found a 1964 225hp 289 for 450bux, if i threw that comp cam and my carb and intake on there id be havin a good time. i have to drive this thing every day so i can't have it be too much of a ground pounder

i say about 250-275. the stock 5.0's have 225. although their efi, theyre still completely stock. so im puttin my money on a few extra hp there. although i am overguessing.
