I bought a rebuild kit from Hanlon Motorsports. It came with an instuction sheet and an expoded view of the tranny. I cleaned all the parts and cleaned my basement floor well and then laid don a big area of news paper. I then laid out the parts as they came off in order on the paper and then just went backwards putting it back together. Hanlon also sells and instructional repair video for the T5. Take your time and you can do it.

i was planning on getting the g-force syncronized gear kit for the rebuild. so it really wasnt too bad? it doesnt look like there are too many parts within the case.

thanks for the help,
carl

If you get the G-Force kit go the extra $399.00 and get the 450 HP 2.95 ratio gear set! Your car will pick up 1 to 2 tenths accelleration and you will have a tough tranny too. I have a buddy running low 11's with a 5000 RPM launch with that set up. It will live!

do you have a link or something to the 2.95 ratio gear set? all i saw on the g-force site was a 2.94 ratio 1st gear, if that is what you meant.

thanks for your help,
carl

Yup, some call it 2.94 and others call it 2.95 same thing, just look into the high alloy 450 HP gear set. I run the 2.94/2.95 gear set on a naturally aspirated non power adder 351 Fox Stang and launch at 6000 rpm. the car pulls 1.52 60ft times and goes 100mph in the 1.8th in 6.9 sec while going 10.91 @ 126 mph in the 1/4. You will like the gear ratio, trust me. It is why the Ford Racing Z T-5 came out in 2.95 because it is quicker, it frees up HP.

thanks,
mine will be going behind a 351w also, my 9" rear end already has a 3.50 ratio. ill change to a lower rear end gear if i think its necessary after i try it out at the track. but 72 mph at 2,000 rpm will certainly be nice for cruising around.
thanks for all your help,
carl
