Default Super Charger Question...

Hey, I will be buying an 06 Mustang GT in the next 2 or 3 months... I was contemplating the GT500, but by the time i thought about it, it was already to late to put my name on a list. So when i get my gt, i plan on putting possibly a Saleen S/C on as well to gain a little bit of power difference. I was just curious to know if putting a Supercharger on would void my 3 yr./36,000 mile warranty? Ive heard that it doesnt 'really' void it, but that dealers refuse to do warranty work any longer once it's on. If thats the case, then it looks like I'll be underpowered for 2 years or so...:S
Thanks!

Well, if a brake caliper fails or something like that, it will be repairable under warranty... but if anything on your driveline breaks, air intake all the way back to the axles, they will blame it on the blower and will not repair it under warranty. If it is on there at all they will be searching for a reason to not do the work... if they don't you'll have to try to find another dealership that will.

I would say if you have the money, be patient and get the Shelby when you get the opportunity. Just keep checking for openings on the list.

a lot of times if you run Ford OEM products that could have been ordered with the car it should not void the warranty. Take my Boss for example who purchased an 05 Saleen without the charger. He then later decided that he wanted one, so he ordered it and had a Ford garage install the kit. Warranty is still intact because it was a factory option. I would ask the dealership about it. If you run the Saleen kit you should be ok, but somehting like a Procharger or KB and it will void the warranty.
