Default Parts interchange question

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to mustangs, but not to fox bodies (have had 5 t-birds, currently have 2). I'm getting an 84 SVO and have a question about parts interchangeability. I want to keep the headlights, but I was wondering if anyone knew if an 87-93 hood/grill setup would work with them? From what I can see the difference in the hoods is the latch and the length of the front overhang. I have an 87 GT I can try and swap hoods with to check fitment, but would rather save myself the work if I could since I broke my leg in a motorcycle crash a couple weeks ago.

If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated

damn i don't think it will work but they do look close so it might. if you know some one with a 87-93 fox then you might just try the hood and see.

many people have converted the 4 eyes stangs' font bumper/healight setup to the 87-93 style, itll just be a tough fit i bet. my best advice would be to get a bumper from 87-90 because i believe it was either 91 or 92 they slightly increased the bumper size.

It's different.

Please don't destroy the 84's history by converting it to a 87+. If you want the aero look sell the 84 and buy a 87+.

Thanks guys...

My intent is not to convert the 84 to an 87+... but to make a custom nose. If you take a look at my t-bird you'll notice that I like to add a bit of a hot rod flare to my cars. I have a FMS Front mount intercooler for a 2.3 turbo engine that I was planning on putting on this car. I was hoping to make a small grill for the front to allow for the air flow but with the tiny space in the front there's no room for that. Looking at the 87 hood I noticed that the lip is shorter and this could work to my advantage with my plan. I'm planning on putting a louvered hood on it and rather then having to get a plain hood louver it and then cut the front, I could get a later hood and just louver it saving on fabrication time. I also plan on putting a frenched antenna on it as well. I guess I'll stick with my plan and just try swapping the hoods on the two cars to see if they fit.
