either a 89-93 or a 03 04 cobra

the great advantage about the cobra is it can be made to make 500 hp fairly easy and cheaply you already have a lot on that car that you wouldn't have to mess with down the like like supercharger rods pistons crank the t56 6 speed will handle 500hp with no problem. really a 03 cobra can make that kind of power with bolt ons and a good tune.

I really appreciate the input everyone. I am really leaning towards the 99 cobra now. I love the body style, I just can't afford the 03/04. I know I could get there in about another year or so, but I really don't want to wait anymore. I believe I am going to go with a 1999 Cobra, and strap on a S/C.

Here is a poll for everyone who reads. This will help me greatly!!!

Consider that I will more than likely get a stock 1999 Cobra. What mods should I do? I will have about 4k to start the modding with. And again, the goal is roughly 500 RWHP. But I do plan on using this as a daily driver as well. So let the advice begin!

like i said, with 4k i'd just slap on an intercooled SC get it tuned right and that's it, would make a great worry free reliable daily driver and have some very decent power (around 420rwhp).

PM sent HC_CrAzYHoRsE. Curious on what type of supercharger to get. I have heard the best of things about Kenne-Bell. Are there other kits of comparable quality?

any twin screw is good as far as being up to date with technology. kb and saleen make good ones. I'd go with KB myself. you're gonna need more than 4k to do it right.

you're gonna want a twin screw if you like low-end power and a vortech or procharger if you don't care about low-rpm boost and just want HP numbers. the 99-01 cobras don't really have a lot of low end power to begin with.

heard alot of great things about the KB too, but never had any personal experiences with it so i can't say much about them. most people i know run centrifugal S/C ...mostly vortechs. they've had great results with it and they cost considerably less than a twin-screw type S/C. it all depends on what exactly you're looking for and how much you want to spend, with 4K i'd go the vortech route.

with 16k. i would get me a low mileage fox GT for 5 maybe 6000 tops. id put some good suspension under it to help it hook up on the dragstrip. then i would yank the motor have it built to a 331 with a forged bottom end and low compression. and top it off with a 65 to 70 mm turbo. with any extra money id put a cowl hood and a saleen wing on it. in case you havent noticed turbo foxes are dominant. they beat all.

Thanks for all of the input everyone! I did find my dream car as of two days ago. It's a 00 GT w/ all moving parts out of a 03 Cobra. All moving parts only have 4k documented miles on them. I am extremely excited. I have wanted a bit of a sleeper, and this is it! And I can build the 4v very easily with minimal $$$. Anyways, I will post up some pics as soon as I get it and let everyone see. I have started another post about mods. If you have any info that would be useful for me (good mods for 03/04 cobra) then please post them. I am going to try and get as much advice as possible and then make an informed decision.

Thanks again everyone!
Jared
