15X10 rear with stock front tires: need opinions
just wondering if anybody had an opinion on this for a daily driver, besides the looks of two different rims.
i got weld racing prostar 15X10 rims w/ MT ET drag slicks but the track is closing and ive been thinking about getting some meat for the back tires. the front would be stock.
looking at MT and im thinking about a 26 or 28 tall tire.
is there any drivability issues with this? anything i should be aware of?
the car has racing studs, dropped with fms springs, is CatLess, and the slicks (28X10.5/15) fit no problem no rubbing noticed at the track.
thanks

RE: 15X10 rear with stock front tires: need opinions
i am still planning on getting 15's for the to be daily driver tires come summer
but dont get 15's in back and keep 17's in front if that is what you are saying, it would be just a tad on the gay side
go with the 15x10 295/50/15 rubber
and up front
15x6 with 205/50 or 55/15 up front
you would need a spacer for the calipers up front though

will a 15 in front rim fit over a 13 in rotor?
and i was hoping not to buy rims and am leaning towards a rear set of bullit replicas if i were to actually buy a pair, but then its just one more thing like everyone else.
ill try to post a pick w/ the drag slicks mounted w/ stock 17 bullits but that might take a while...

it'll fit, you just need spacers so that the wheel doesnt rub the outside of the caliper, but yes, the 15" wheel is wide enough (tall enough, call it what you want)
get some pics, i still cant imagine 17" in front and 15" in back is any good

some say you can't run a 13 in rotor and cobra calipers with anything less than a 17in rim?
and how do you post a pic...its on my harddrive.
you're right tho, it does look kinda funny w/ the two diff sized rims. but the rear tires by themselves look good...just not combined with the stock bullits

im not sure about cobra calipers,,
im assuming they woudl be larger than the standerd front GT calipers on my 99
so as for that, im not sure what to tell you, i dont have any experiance, just that the 99s are very close, safe to fit and all, but still, close
umm, if you have a picture on your computer
1. reply a thread,
2. just below the typing box is a light blue link that says
"Click here to upload! and next to it is a check box that says "embed picture in post
3. click the box so we can see it w/o opening a new window
4 click the "click here to upload!" link and then hit browse for the picture
open the picture and hit upload, there you go, simple as that
